After waiting three weeks for Lia’s new neuro physio appointment, I had so much anxiety. Both Lia and I fell in love with Sarah, her occupational therapist and me being the introvert that I am, it’s hard to let someone knew in. I knew from the start that I would have to choose between Sarah and Carolyn, but I had to take emotion out of the equation. Lia needed the best, the best Dr Lamb insisted on and that was Carolyn. I know I can continue with both, but driving takes up a lot of time and a lot of petrol, so for now we have to stay with Carolyn and I just have to trust and love her as much as I do Sarah.
Carolyn’s job is to loosen Lia’s muscles and strengthen her core. The zero strength in the core is the reason she can not sit up by herself, she just flops forward and that hurts her, leaving her always on her back and I won’t let her live her life like this.
After the 2nd session with Carolyn, she started mentioning that we need to get Lia a standing frame. We need to get her up so that her core can strengthen and her legs can start taking on some of her weight. Now I have to choose a orthotist…
