i finally have few minutes to send an update about Lia, I know many of you have been asking.
Dr Lamb described Lia’s treatment outcome as a miracle. The HIPPS (constant electrical surges/epilepsy she had when she was sleeping has completely vanished after just 3 weeks of treatment. In his words “her brain will start to wake up now, she will want to do more”. I sat in-front of the genius of a man and I couldn’t believe what he had said. He said she looks much different, happier and it looks like she just wants to get our of the pram and walk.
He has increased some of her night medication to help her sleep better – this has not worked yet and I am exhausted. But he said to give it a week and then let him know.
She had severe bronchitis last week with very bad chest and fevers, but between my new GP and myself, we managed it and she is still nebulizer with much complaint during the process. Dr said that she can continue occupational therapy and physio. CAMAF has helped us so much over the past months, registering her condition as chronic, paying for all her medication and Occupational Therapy (OT). OT is so important every week and thats when the therapist shows us what to do, so that Nanna and I can do the therapy with her. Its been a very expensive time since June 2022.
When I asked Doctor Lamb “will she hold her dolls”, he replied, “yes, her brain is waking up and it will for new paths”
